Offering Management

Role Overview

A part of the Offering Management (OM) corporate team, I was the go-to visual designer for the OM department. I designed and produced content materials for various programs, ensuring they were easy to understand, improved learnability of the various programs, and maintained consistent branding. I created and edited marketing materials to attract candidates to IBM programs and designed assets like signage, posters, banners, and workbooks. I also maintained the team’s media repository, including photos and videos.

Presentation Design

I played a crucial role in shaping the visual and informational quality of numerous workshops, webinars, and online modules. I ensured that presentations met IBM's high standards for clarity, engagement, and professionalism. Over my tenure, I created and polished more than 1,000+ slides, significantly contributing to the effectiveness and impact of our training and communication efforts.

AOM Brand Extension

I played a key role in bringing IBM's brand and marketing materials to a new organization that lacked design support. I created visually engaging marketing collateral and supporting assets, improving the organization's communication and training. This work strengthened the brand presence and extended the organization's professional image into Product Management.

Marketing Media Library

I managed the media library for the Offering Management organization, ensuring that all digital assets were organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible. I set up a system to organize and store photos, videos, and other media, making it easier for team members to find what they needed. My efforts improved efficiency and ensured that the organization consistently had high-quality media resources readily available for various projects and presentations.

Reflection

What I learned

Gain clarity on the purpose of your presentation first

Understanding whether the presentation will be printed, used for an in-person board meeting, or shared in a webinar upfront leads to a well-executed presentation. For example, copying webinar slideshows to printed workbooks requires adjustments to maintain visual consistency.

Always have a backup plan when you are not able to physically walk the space

There were many times when a facility didn't have a backdrop for a presentation or when signs couldn't be placed where they were designed for. The ability to problem-solve and work on one's feet was a crucial skill.

Clearly defined brand guides save time

Establishing clear brand guidelines ensures consistency and professionalism across materials. This consistency also saves time and reduces errors.
